EvonyMasters Poll: What do you want to see in Evony?

So, what would you like to see added to Evony?

We have compiled a list of what we have come up with. Feel free to get behind one of our ideas or provide one of your own in comments- Be sure to explain it well if you do!

1) Castle choice (Different castles when you are renaming) are reflected on Map view, rather than showing each castle the same.

This would be a very easy, game expanding addon.  Each castle level could be similar in size w/ different numbers of levels (for the round castle) and spires (for the “Disney” castle & others).

2) Ability to build sea-going vessels and relocate to islands off the coast.

This would allow the end users to go off to remote portions of Evony to form stronger alliances or to Exile people of high importance.  Don’t allow teleporting to these locations and only allow the users to move there when they’ve maxed out Privateering- at which point they can sail & reach these locations.

3) Ability to retreat from battle

This is a huge issue in the game right now.  Say you are one of 100k warriors and you think you’re going to fight 4k archers when you arrive.  Once you get to the battle, you realize there is actually 55k and you’re about to get slaughtered.  Nobody would stick around to see if anyone even stuck around, yet, in Evony, every single one of these guys dies.

4) Enhanced beginners protection

When a user tries to attack an NPC with a force way to small (the system can recognize if it will be a fight that lasts under 10 rounds) they should not let the fight occur the first time and provide a link to a tutorial.

    another idea would be the ability to have an item that would increase the amount of buildings you are aloud to upgrade at the same time. this would save a lot of time. Out of the 4 i would choose number 3 :)

    I think that it would be a great improvement for the enjoyment of the game if people could sell the amulet items that they do not want. Also that they could buy items not just with coins, but with gold. but obviously, to make it fair to the people that actually pay for them with coins, we would need to pay significantly larger amount if we pay with gold. i have talked with my alliance, Varden, about that and they all liked it and were for it. Thank you for taking your time reading and considering this preposition.

    the ability to truce your game for a period of two weeks max in any one year to allow for vacations where it is not possible to access a computer on a regular basis so leaving you vunerable to attacks you can`t defend

    i think items 2 & 4 are great.
    as a newbie. i would like a newbie world.
    nothing worse than spending 7 days, to exit bp and have a lvl 10 alliance adv tele port right next to you and with out a word plunder you. allow entrance into a world where my exp( rank prestige ) ensures a fighting chance.

    How about the ability to sell back some of the crap for game coins. I can use game coins for resources, and purchase items in store. Why should I also not be sell back (at a discount) for game coins to purchase things I would need.

    I will not mention medals even though that is the single biggest complaint in the game.

    The change I and many others would like to see is, building production stacking. Let us cue up to 5 buildings to be upgraded at a time. Do not allow it to cue up new buildings, but only building upgrades. For example, i want to upgrade my wall, 3 mines and a barracks. I cue them up in the order, I want them to be done. Then as one building, finishes, the next one on the cue begins its upgrade. We can do this with troops, why not buildings? Many other games do. Its very frustrating when you are trying to do other things, to have to keep popping back to do 1 building at a time, especially when the buildings in question take 3-5 minutes. Even worse are the ones that have long upgrade times. If you want to keep up, you either must stay online for many hours at a stretch or keep trying to remember when to log back in for 30 seconds, to cue up the next build.

    This is not a huge request, but it would make a huge boost towards game enjoyment. After all who wants to stops spamming waves of attacks at valleys in hopes of getting 1 of the 6-10 specific medals we need to actually advance. Come on, we know you do not care about whether we actually get the rewards our efforts deserve, give our building production the same ability as troop production

    Evony is advertised as free forever. However, the game coins need to be bought. And given your location (country) some members (including me) are unable even to buy coins with credit cards due to domestic restrictions. So my request is for Evony admin to live the slogan of ‘free forever’ and allow items be bought for gold and not just coins!

    Iwish we had the ability to put things into cue as far as building farmss, barracks, etc. But limit it to upgrdes th coincide with level of townhall and construction . F or instance : level 3 townhall and level 3 construction get s 3 building cues.

    im with “Shawnabelle”…i have way more medals that i’ll never use. If i could give them to players in my alliance or trade them in for game coin to get other things that would be a vast improvement. Also, the other thing is being able to upgrade more then one building at a time.

    I think that if you have a lot of workers you should be able to make more buildings at a time and if you have even more workers it can shorten the time of construction.You also should be able to put resources in the alliance inventory or something like that so members could take them (if your in a alliance).

    I would find a tab that you can make notes on for each city very useful.
    When you are waiting over 100 hours to do the next upgrade and managing several cities sometimes you forget what you wanted to do next in a particular city, valleys that you want to attack, etc.

    My desk is so cluttered with notes

    The game is too slow in certain parts. It is attractive if you work – I’m a salesman and sell and play Evony at the same time. The construction is OK. The research needs to be at least 30% faster. But the most annoying part of the game is the attacks. It should be at least 200% faster – in other words 5min instead of 20min. The map is big and there are many territories that must be taken. + the 10 city limit. Nobody in real life limits the wealthy. Why should Evony limit the wealthy. It is precisely the battle between the rich and poor that draws people to games like Evony.

    1. can the map actually show the movement of troops?
    2. Can the troops change its course of direction, retreating if necessary (at the expense of food, morale)
    3. Can the troops enroute to a target/ returning be attacked? that would make it closer to reality, and will give alliances of minor prestige the chance to join up to topple a high level player.
    4. I know this could be complicated, but how about a city actually have 4 sides, and reach has its own defenses, so that strategy can be deployed from both sides during siege.
    5. Some preset AI for the Heroes so that when you go offline, they know what to do based on some predetermined set of procedures.

    i know i am greedy, but just want to make this already great game even more interesting.

    you should be able to sell the things you don’t need or want from the amulet for game coins even if u could sell them back for half or a quarter of what their worth that would be great it would make more people enjoy the game i know i would like it so much better. I also like the idea of buying things for gold but it would be a lot more gold than game coins. thanks for reading this

    I would go for number 2 the option to be able to relocate by boat would be great fun. And annoy the life out of alliances that use us new users as a shop, when they just pop in and take what they want all the time.

    I would very much like to be able to transport supplies to people outside my alliance.Example:I want to trade a city 500,000 wood resource for 500,000 iron resource.Instead of buying in the market I would like to trade to an individual near my city for his resource and send my resource to him directly.Although a fail safe be needed to insure you are not cheated out of resource.Even though it would be interesting to see how some people react to being cheated.

    The ability to have a Navy would truly make this game A LOT better for me.We should be able to build multiple ports and have different types of ship,Like Frigates,Corvettes,Cruisers,Battleships,supply
    transports,etc. etc.Also The addition of fishing would be an interesting addition to food resource.Having so many vessels could provide maybe a % bonus to food production.This is a large undertaking I imagine for the Evony Team to make I know,but it would make the game in my opinion much more entertaining.P.S.Thank You Evony Team for making and maintaining this game.Keep up the good work.Best of Luck to your work.

    Some players are using the market place to trade and make extra gold. This is good, however, the reports really dont help. You shoudl have a report which clearly shows all your trades, including fees, and allows you to do trades as speculative buys and sells to make more gold.

    in my opinion anything new is good, but id like to be able to find my allaince on my map, as in where all my fellow alliance members are located. Its such a strain panning the map to see if anyone freindly is around or asking for coordinants from everyone. I also agree with alot of people about replacing coins with gold and almost everything else posted. THNX

    i reckon you should have a tiny trickle of game coins into players accounts but not enough to sustain someone for long. so even if there are game coins coming in…you still have to buy some coins. that way, people can afford the real cheap stuff, but not the more expensive things. thanks for making this game. i just joined a week ago. it’s really great.

    I have coins in other servers. Would it be possible to transfer them over to different servers?
    I also love the idea of different castle designs. Try and make this game as individual as possible and more will play.

    the game gets stale very quickly
    the above suggestions will do little to improve the game
    heros need to have more impact
    spells and abilites to influence battles/ assassians/even poets(faste builders)and so on
    a mage tower to supply magic?
    travelling merchants that could buy/sell items
    the items are very boring and offer no enjoyment
    how about a flaming sword for a hero?
    battles become numbers rather than any strategic gameplay, perhaps a formation screen by a general before battle to develop some more game play
    medals bloody medals i spend half my time letting soilders die just to try and find stupid medals and still dont find them
    i am to stuborn to stop playing but when i lose a batlle will give up

    i would love for you to lessen the time it takes to upgrade, build, and ect… i hate waiting 5 days for some certain thing to load

    secondly, i have gotten plundered by many people and i was not online. You should have atleast a button to know when your not online that way you will not be able to get attacked, it’s just not fair how your offline and you get attacked.

    I would like to see a few improvements:
    1. A zoomable map. At LEAST 2 levels of zoom.
    2. Buttons beside Construction and Troop for Defenses and Training to monitor all functions in a central place.
    3. A small change in the location box in the upper right. Current coordinates unchangeable… empty text box to type new coords.
    4. Queuing of building and/or upgrading buildings based on Construction tech level.
    5. Queuing of tech research based on Town Hall level.
    6. A warning when cancelling research, for example, that you won’t get all your resources back.
    7. A search function: lvl 5 flats within 8 mi. for example. Or all red-flagged towns… or all allies….
    8. PRIVATE CHAT WINDOWS… Come on… whispering back and forth in the same window as alliance chat is nuts.
    9. The ability to create an army template for reuse. For example, an NPC farming army of ballistae and transports… pick a target, pick a hero and go.

    These things would make the game MUCH more enjoyable and playable.

    Couple of “fixes” would be nice, as well:
    1. Defensive Trebuchets are still called Rockfalls somewhere… I think it’s quests.
    2. Stable SAYS it speeds up cavalry training… it doesn’t.
    3. Quest re. Town Hall upgrade SAYS town hall speeds up construction times… it doesn’t.
    4. The promotion system needs a complete overhaul of some kind. Newbies take the wrong promotion first (rank before title). Medals are nearly impossible to get and lower level ones are useless once you’be been promoted past them. It’s all just wrong. Re-think it.
    5. The lack of a provision to get rid of useless items is frustrating. Allow them to be traded for coins at some ridiculous discount…

    Do SOMETHING with combat. Let us see it. Give a round-by-round outline of what happened… Some kind of peek into the combat system would be AWESOME… and would make planning much more rational.

    I think thes are all great ideas this game dose need a great overhaul but im starting to think that the Devs never take into account our suggestions they are always to busy tyring to make money and new servers I think they should slow down on that and start working on the old servers and moding them with new ideas

    Saito, I think those are excellent points.
    Or if you want to joint up with a non-alliance city next to you to attack a third city, you should be able to do so and split the rescoures.
    How about being able to TRADE or SELL the ITEMs that you win? I won a Ritual of Pact (worth 500 cents) and my alliance already has one. So it is basicly worthless to me. But if I could trade it!
    I think that a navy is beyond the scope of this game, but I could see a new game designed to take sea battles into account.
    Also, I would love to hear suggestions for improving EVONY from everyone. I know that the makers of EVONY won’t do anything with the suggestions, but I’d still like to hear them.

    It would be very nice if you could PAN OUT on the World Map to get a better view of the area around you, or see a miniture map with your allies, enemies and neutrals marked on it.

    Also, maybe unrealist, but I’d like to be able to move buildings after they are built.
    I like all of my sawmills, farms, mines,ect…together and you can’t do this as you build.
    The limit on the email is bad also. 500 word limit needs to be raised and it should be able to quote.

    I wish we could transfer out of a server inot another. would be good. I do like the idea of a Navy that could be interesting. Zooming out on teh map would be very helpful also. And trading items for coinage woulod be great, mabye with a traveling merchant?

    I wouldl ike to be able to give castles away as rewards. It would have to be a castle that is already owned, and can be given by it’s owner to people within the alliance, as long as they have the right title/rank. I hate having to be kciked from an alliance, attack the city that will soon be yours, re-join the alliance, then go about your buisness as usual… Giving your castles out would be a lot easier………….

    Also, we need less sexual adds. The only reason a lot of new people join is because they see the Evony Adds online, and think they are gong to play a Porno game. It’s quite irritating on Server 88 with all the horny teenagers on there…

    i agree we should be able to atleast pick how many workers we want working on certain buildings or somthing to get more done lol i have to wait another few hours till my town hall is complete… yea being able to pick a few workers to work on a building and the rest to go do whatever you wanted would be Great!!

    I hate the fact that you have to PAY to TALK! Like really? Pay..You have to buy “Speakers” like really… this might cause ALOT of people to stop playing.

    Another thing is, geting attacked like 5 TIMES in a row or more = 0 Food 0 Lumber ETC…well not really 0 but close to none…I come back from the mall…”Reports, Plunder Reports” like really cant there be a limit of people attacking you!!!!!

    The best thing I would like to see is the ability to loose all cities. I almost stopped playing when I found out you couldn’t wipe someone off the map. Now I have dozens of cities that have been abandoned by people just trying the game out all around me that I can’t get rid of.

    I think they should let us wipe each other out. Then when we log in start us off under beginning protection again at a randomly generated plot somewhere. Like a forced reset if you will.

    I agree with you Angel, I’ve never played a game where you have to pay to chat!!! I did initially buy the $5.00 package when first joining – but I won’t be buying anything else…. what a rip off, Evony is a great game, and you don’t need to purchase anything to play. Also there are soooo many other free games that you can play!!

    its retarded that we have to wait 3min then 4 then 8 then do it all again when we start another resource province. ok the 5min auto construct is useful but u need to be able to que the dang building schedule so that u can plan other things than ur 125hr wall for the next 4 1/2 days! i mean come on! if we could build a couple buildings in a line, then we could come back in the morning and look at all the nice lvl 7 resouce buildings we built overnight from lvl 6 each…. i mean all those buildings are like 1hr some and 10hrs of sleep could let u upgrade ur whole resource field. seriously we need to get a build que

    5.What about some weather changes and plagues that effect evrything that would get people throwing there wallets at the computer. lol no way… But really high level players should’nt be able to attack a low level player unless their within a certain braket,however the lower level player has the choice to join their allience or pay a tax or tribute so their city has a chance.

    I have been playing and serviving for about 5 weeks. I really like playing alone and not being in an alliance. There should be special rules to help nonalliance players. Like being able to share gold with one another it would be like a secret alliance with a friend. It would really add alot to the game, think about it. I love the fact I have been able to servive this long. I’m like a underdog out there, its been a blast.

    I endorse Wolfzeros ideas + you should be able to control the troops in the field.
    Change course or muster them, split them into groups.
    Realistic warfare, allow ambushing of troops & markers on the map to show where your army is.
    Also allow building to be queud if you have the resources.

    Better war keeping stats. There is NO purpose to war currently. Server wide stats for each alliance is a must for life long continuity. Wars started, wars finished, wars won, wars lost, capitulation, area all options and stats that would need to be tracked. Limitations would have to be by alliance prestige, cannot declare war up or down beyond a certain%. Rewards for diplomatic resolutions (alliance with most allies in same territory=control of that territory, etc). Most of the ideas I have read are very self-serving, and not for the good of the game as an entity, so I support none of the 4 listed.

    There should be a possibility to trade items with other players. Or to sell them, expand the market. People often get stuff from the amulet that is useless to them, but usefull to others. For example I have 3 Ritual of pacts, whilst being in an Alliance with 100 members. Useless. That would be perfect. Let people put their items on the market, against the price they want, with a limit of 50% of the value.

    I don’t know how many times I have watched my troups go halfway across the map and turnaround and come back. The default should be changed to reinforce and the option to transport. At least then when I mess up all I have to do is return the empty transporters. Also it would save me having to write 2 orders to reinforce with troups and drop off food.

    I think you should be able to:

    a) take over someones last city to force a reset – as has been mentioned before – and
    b) be able to have an unlimited number of cities.
