Want to see a clever Evony Age 2 Prestige trick? This trick actually works on age 1 as well.

This screenshot of the top ranked players on one of the age 2 servers clearly shows at least one player using this strategy.

Notice that the player with over 6 million prestige has 0 honor. He also only has only 1 city and his population is only 224.

Here is the trick.

Step 1. Build a massive army the traditional way

Step 2. Move all your army to one small city. Preferably a city with Town Hall level 1.

Step 3. Move all your resources into that city, especially food.

Step 4. Have an ally or friend capture all of your cities except for that small city (or you can just abandon them but you might want to get the cities back so having a friend capture them is better so they can help you get them back.)

Step 5. Attack some barbarian cities.

Step 6. Collect huge prestige bonuses!

You see prestige is partially based on your total town hall level. Let’s say you have 5 cities. You would add up the town hall levels of all 5 cities. Then when you do battle the amount of prestige you earn is based on that total town hall level. In the screenshot above you can see this guy is getting so much prestige because he has basically gotten rid of every city. He has one tiny level 1 city and a population of only 224 in that city (meaning he has a small town hall because the level of cottages is based on the town hall level of the city.)

Rumor has it that this prestige trick works on both Evony Age 1 and Evony Age 2.

Once you are “colonized” there will be an eight hour suppression period. During this time you can have your allies’ mass troops and you can build up your own army. Once this time is up there will be a fight between the attacker’s troops and your own. If you win you are free and if you lose you become a colony under the attacker, your suzerain.

So obviously you want to win the fight, right? Well if you get your allies to reinforce you, you may take losses but win in the end. I’d rather not take any losses. So here’s the trick: go to your Embassy and you will see where troops are garrisoned in your city. You will see your attacker’s troops. You simply have to dismiss them.

The catch is that if you do this right away and your suppressor notices they will simply reinforce and hope you don’t notice. The key is timing. You have to wait until the last minute so that your suppressor doesn’t have time to reinforce. When suppression ends and the stabilization battle takes place your enemy will have no troops in your city and you will win as a result.

Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!

There has been quite a few useful changes to the rally point of Evony Age II. The first thing you’ll probably notice is that the rally point window can now be made transparent so that you can see the map while you’re in the rally point. It is also possible to preset troops from the rally point now, a feature I can see being really useful when farming NPCs for food or valleys for medals. You have 3 different preset troop numbers you can save in your rally point.

The third option I’ve noticed with the rally point is the fugitive camp. When you run out of food some of your troops will go here for a while, instead of dying right away. They don’t stay here forever, so make sure you retrieve them before they are permanently lost.

Your medic camp inside your rally point is also different in Evony Age II. Now you are able to heal your troops automatically as soon as they are wounded. It can be a huge advantage to have this feature turned on, especially when you’re offline. It seems healing troops automatically costs 3 times the normal amount of gold.

There seems to be some new Hero Attributes in Evony Age II. That is hero leadership, hero speed and hero energy. Hero energy seems to be a certain number out of 100. Every time your hero marches he looses 4 of his energy points. These energy points will recover over time.

The speed attribute speeds up your travel time, it does so by dividing the normal travel time by 1+0.1*MountLevel, ie if it normally takes 140 seconds to get somewhere and you have mount level 4 then it will be divided by 1.4 giving 100 seconds.

Not sure about leadership, I read on the forums that each level allows you to command 1000 troops effectively and that if you send more out than this the hero can support then their are increased losses. I don’t think it increases losses directly, I think it reduces the effectiveness of the extra troops so they might only be fighting at half their capacity or something, ie if you send 100k archers with a 60 leadership hero, I suspect 60k will be at full attack and the remaining 40 will attack at a reduced level which if I had to guess would be half.

You definitely seem to get a lot more losses attacking NPCs with a low leaderships level, I go around 40k losses with one around 60 that in age 1 I’d have expected only around 20k losses with, I’m attacking with 90+ leadership now and getting losses similar to what I would expect

Holiday mode, or vacation mode as it is also called, is a feature of Evony that is hardly ever used. I believe the main reason noone uses this feature is that it is very expensive. It will cost you 10 Evony cents every single day. For a two week vacation that would be $14. You can be in holiday mode as long as you want to, as long as you have enough Evony cents. Once your account runs out of Evony cents your account will be thrown out of holiday mode.

To enter holiday mode you click the image of your avatar and then change your status. You can choose between normal, truce and holiday. You can enter holiday mode for a minimum of 2 days and set it to auto renew until you are out of Evony coins or you get back from your vacation. You must stop all construction, research and recruitment to be able to enter holiday mode. You can also not dispatch any troops to valleys, have pending orders in the market or any incoming attacks on your cities. If you have your troops in any of your alliance members cities you have to withdraw these before you can enter holiday mode.

During holiday mode your status will be frozen and no resources will be gained or consumed. You can not be attacked under vacation mode and your alliance can not send any troops to any of your cities either. If you can afford it I guess holiday mode is a decent feature of Evony.

Historic Cities is the best new features of Evony Age 2 in my opinion, and conquering one of these is quite a challenge. The historic cities comes in 4 different types and they are spread all over the server, and you can find more details about each of them further down in the article.

The Historic Cities can be conquered by players, and the owner of an Historic Cities will have a great advantage when it comes to controlling the area around it, as an Historic City can levy both resources and troops from cities surrounding it. This means that you can actually steal both troops and resources from your neighbors when you hold one of these cities, which is pretty cool. How wide of an area the historic city controls depends on it’s level, the the higher the level of the city the harder it also is to conquer.

Level 18 historic cities.
There is only one level 18 historic city on each server, and this one is called Atlantis. It is placed at coordinate 0,0 on all server, and it is the strongest historic city there is. Conquering Atlantis is extremely hard, and only the strongest of alliance have managed to conquer one of these. There is often battles about Atlantis on most servers, as all the strong alliances want to be the owner of the city. Atlantis is the capital of the whole Evony server after all.

Level 16 historic cities.
The level 16 historic cities are considered the state capitals, and there is one of them in each of the 16 Evony states. Washington D.C. is the capital of Friesland, Prague of Lower Lorraine, Paris of Upper Lorraine, Ottawa of Burgundy, Beijing of Saxony, Berlin of Franconia, Rome of Swabia, Jerusalem of Lombardy, Loyang of Northern March, Vienna of Thuringen, Athens of Bavaria, Canberra of Tuscany, Moscow of Bohemia, London of Movaria, Cairo of Carinhia and Isamabad of Romanga. Conquering a level 16 is pretty hard to do, and you’ll probably need the help of your alliance to do so, but not even close to as difficult as conquering Atlantis.

Level 14 historic cities.
The level 14 historic cities are located every 66 miles on x and y, starting from 33,33 and onwards. These cities have a green flag on their walls. It is possible for strong players to conquer the level 14 historic cities alone, and many strong players have these historic cities under their control. You get a pretty wide area to control if you own one of these, but not as wide as the area the state capitals and world capital controls.

Level 12 historic cities.
The level 12 historic cities are pretty easy to conquer, and there are a bunch of them spread out all over the server. You can find them every 18 miles on the x and y axis of the server, starting from 9,9. I have written a guide here on how to conquer a level 12 historic city, so take a look there if you’d like to conquer one. The city will contain something like 280k warriors, 27k calvary, 40k pikemen, 17k archers and maxed fortifications, and you need about 200k archers and 300k warriors to conquer it successfully. I success you start out with trying to conquer a level 10 NPC as a practice before you attempt to conquer historic cities.

You only have to donate 200,000 of each resources to complete quest number 2, and as a reward you get 1 iron rake, 1 double saw, 1 adv quarrying tools, 1 blast furnace and 1 adv tax policy.

To complete quest number 1, Allied Forces, you need to donate a bunch of troops, 200 catapults even which take a very long time to build early on the server. In reward you get 4 Michelangelo’s scripts, 1 truce agreement, 1 advanced city teleporter, 1 war ensign, 1 ivory horn, 1 ultra corselet and 1 penicillin.

Quest number 3, Military Feat, is even harder, here you have to donate more than 300 medals total, and 300 medals will take you an extremely long time to gather. They are also better used at increasing your rank and title, so this hero quest should only be done when you reach max title and rank. The reward is 1 senior guidelines, 1 master guidelines, 1 ultimate guidelines, 1 Napoleon’s diary, 1 Archimedes’s note, 1 merchant fleet, 1 dynamite, 1 civil code and 1 speech text.

Stars and star levels is something totally new in Evony Age 2. In Evony Age 2 you can upgrade the star level of your hero gear, and that way you make the gear more powerful. However, upgrading star levels is not that easy and can be quite frustrating.

First thing you need to know about star levels is that you need to use delicate gems or flawless gems in each upgrade, and you do the upgrade in your workshop. You can choose how many and which type of gem you want to use for the upgrade, and you will be told the success rate of your upgrade before you complete it. There are a total of 15 star level for each of the 14 different gear types you will find in Evony Age 2.

Upgrading the first few star levels of each gear is quite easy, and I suggest you only use a few delicate gems for each of these upgrades. It doesn’t matter if you fail then, since you’ll be close to level 0 anyways. It will become more and more difficult and risky however, since if you faily the later upgrades the gears star level will be downgraded all the way to level zero!

To get all of your gear types to level 15 star level will take a very long time and cost you a lot of resources and gems. In addition to upgrading the star levels of your gear, you also need to upgrade the gear technology itself. Each time you upgrade the technology of your gear the star level will be decreased by one. I suggest you focus on getting all your gear technology to level 10 before you start with upgrading star levels at all. You can read more making gear and upgrading your gear technology here.

In this table you can see what level your star level will be downgraded to if you fail any of the upgrades. As you can see if you fail high level upgrades the star level will be downgraded all the way back to level zero, so I suggest you use 4 flawless gems for the higher level upgrade to minimize the chance you will fail. Failing at level 14 would be horrible, and getting the star level all the way back to 14 once more is very costly.

Star level research

Downgraded to if fail

Level 1 to level 2

Zero

Level 2 to level 3

Zero

Level 3 to level 4

1

Level 4 to level 5

2

Level 5 to level 6

3

Level 6 to level 7

4

Level 7 to level 8

5

Level 8 to level 9

Zero

Level 9 to level 10

Zero

Level 10 to level 11

Level 11 to level 12

Zero

Level 13 to level 14

Zero

Level 14 to level 15

Zero

You can choose to upgrade the gear’s star level manually one level at a time, or you can choose to do so automatically to the desired gear star level you want. Doing it manually you can see the success chance of each upgrade you want to do, and how it depends on how many delicate or flawless gems you want to use. You can only use gems of one type on each upgrade, and max 4 at the same time. If you upgrade star levels automatically you get the option of starting to use flawless gems at a certain level of star upgrade. Automatic star level upgrades will use 4 gems for each level upgrade.

In Evony Age II you can make your own gear for your heroes in the workshop. It is cool that the workshop building finally has some use. You need a certain level of the workshop to make certain gear. The gear you make come in 10 different levels.

To be able to create gear for your heroes you need to have enough resources. Each type of gear requires a specific combination of resources. The resources you need to produce gear are not the same as those you produce in your villages. At the moment the only way to get these resources seem to be to buy them in the Evony store. I expect that you are able to get these from attacks just like medals in the future.

You need to research the technology of the various items in the workshop before you are able to produce them. To research the technologies from level 3 and beyond you need to use Lost Armor Scripts. These can be bought in the Evony store at 40 cents or you can get them from NPC attacks. This is a list of the technologies:

Weaponry.

Shield construction.

Mount training.

Necklace fabrication.

Charm.

Ring crafting.

Head gearing.

Shoulder gearing.

Chest gearing.

Back gearing.

Gauntlets.

Belts.

Legs gearing.

Foot gear.

There are five types of resources, Wood, Iron Ore, Thorough Breds, Gemstones, and Fabric. The gemstones mentioned here are not the same as gems or stratagems. To get these resources you buy boxes with them, just like medal boxes, and each box contain 2-4 of the resources that you want. The boxes are called wood box, iron ore box, riding rein, gemstone box and fabric box.
