Plundering a Valley in Evony

Each town can only conquer and hold a number of valleys that is equivalent to the level of its town hall. If a valley is attacked and defeated, by an army from a town holding its maximum number of valleys, the army will not conquer the valley. However, the victorious army will automatically return home to its town with plundered resources that match the type of valley (flats can return any resource).

Clicking abandon relinquish’s control of the valley to the barbarian’s to allow it to be conquered again by whoever you want.

When the server is restarted after daily maintenance, each unoccupied valley will have its level increased by 1, with level 10′s becoming level 1′s.

Conquering Evony Valleys

When you are conquering a valley, be aware that the higher the level, the more troops it will have to protect it. It is advisable to scout it out before you are going to attack it.

Usually, 30 archers for a level 1 valley, 70 for level 2, and 100 for level 3 will conquer the valley with no troop losses. However, if any troops are sent which aren’t archers they may be hurt, and the archers may have casualties if less then this amount is sent. (Taken from Medal Farming )

Once a valley is conquered, it is under your control and you will receive the associated resource production benefit (see above) while it remains under your control. It is possible to recall your main campaign army (which is led by one of your heroes) and to send a more modest reinforcement (without a hero) to defend your land after that, if your level of Rally Spot allows it. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click on the valley, then click ‘Enter’. Once inside the valley screen, click ‘Recall’ next to the army to return that army to the city from which it was originally sent out.
2. Click on the valley, then click ‘Reinforce’. Once inside the March screen, select the armies that you want to send there to defend it, then click OK to confirm. Note that due to a bug in the game, it is not possible to view the type and number of troops that have sent later on. Therefore, it is advisable to archive the “Troops Arrived” message in Reports > Army that you will receive when the reinforcements have arrived as a memo for later reference.

Troops reinforcing a valley eat more food then they would at your city, thus many elect to have no army protecting thei valley’s especialy, if the valley is low level and thus easily replaced.

Can Evony Barbarians Attack?

Barbarian Towns don’t ever attack cities but they may attack your transports. More clearly, if you try transporting to someone of high prestige and you have barbarian cities near you, it’s believed that there’s a chance of your transport caravan getting attacked by barbarians. If they succeed, your transport caravan will be taken out, whether it be transporters or warriors and so on. They may all be killed and the resources will be taken. Often exactly half of the troops and resources will be taken. The resources don’t show up in the Barbarian Town though. You will be notified of this in a plunder report listed in black text.

What is in an Evony NPC?

Each NPC contains buildings that are all the same as its level, (ie. all level 1 npcs have all level 1 buildings). Each NPC contains an academy, forge, embassy, workshop, feasting hall, stable, inn, rally spot, barracks, relief station, beacon tower, and twenty cottages.Resource fields consist of one sawmill, ironmine, and quarry, and the rest of the fields are farms.

Scouting NPCs to until you find a weak mayor

One method of attacking a higher-level NPC’s that you might otherwise be able to successfully attack is to repeatedly Scout it until a very low level Hero appears in the reports.

Each time the city is scouted a new Hero will be in charge. Repetition and persistence will lead to a very weak defending Hero in the city. At this point, STOP Scouting and attack!

Evony Age 2 (E: Age Two)

So, what’s it going to involve? Our sources close to the project say that it is going to move Evony into the future on new servers. The original game will remain and continue to be updated with fixes, however, “Age Two” will cover a more recent part of our history.

A source, who told us this on conditions of anonimity because Evony has yet to release details, said that it will, “undoubtedly be a major advancement in gameplay. Not only from a speed perspective, but with much grander visuals and better backend scoring.”
