Want to see a clever Evony Age 2 Prestige trick? This trick actually works on age 1 as well.

This screenshot of the top ranked players on one of the age 2 servers clearly shows at least one player using this strategy.

Notice that the player with over 6 million prestige has 0 honor. He also only has only 1 city and his population is only 224.

Here is the trick.

Step 1. Build a massive army the traditional way

Step 2. Move all your army to one small city. Preferably a city with Town Hall level 1.

Step 3. Move all your resources into that city, especially food.

Step 4. Have an ally or friend capture all of your cities except for that small city (or you can just abandon them but you might want to get the cities back so having a friend capture them is better so they can help you get them back.)

Step 5. Attack some barbarian cities.

Step 6. Collect huge prestige bonuses!

You see prestige is partially based on your total town hall level. Let’s say you have 5 cities. You would add up the town hall levels of all 5 cities. Then when you do battle the amount of prestige you earn is based on that total town hall level. In the screenshot above you can see this guy is getting so much prestige because he has basically gotten rid of every city. He has one tiny level 1 city and a population of only 224 in that city (meaning he has a small town hall because the level of cottages is based on the town hall level of the city.)

Rumor has it that this prestige trick works on both Evony Age 1 and Evony Age 2.

Once you are “colonized” there will be an eight hour suppression period. During this time you can have your allies’ mass troops and you can build up your own army. Once this time is up there will be a fight between the attacker’s troops and your own. If you win you are free and if you lose you become a colony under the attacker, your suzerain.

So obviously you want to win the fight, right? Well if you get your allies to reinforce you, you may take losses but win in the end. I’d rather not take any losses. So here’s the trick: go to your Embassy and you will see where troops are garrisoned in your city. You will see your attacker’s troops. You simply have to dismiss them.

The catch is that if you do this right away and your suppressor notices they will simply reinforce and hope you don’t notice. The key is timing. You have to wait until the last minute so that your suppressor doesn’t have time to reinforce. When suppression ends and the stabilization battle takes place your enemy will have no troops in your city and you will win as a result.

Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!

The exploitation of resources forms the basis for the ascent of your Polis to become a powerful island power. In Grepolis, there are 4 resources – 3 normal types and 1 special type. The normal resources consist of wood, stone and silver coins. The mythical Pantheon in ancient Greece played a large role and because of this the fourth resource is the divine favor of the Gods. For all units and building, you require resources. You get the resources automatically through your mines (lumberjack, quarry, silver mine) or the temple (divine favor). Resources are produced constantly even if you are not logged into your account.
The amount of resources you receive per hour depends on the size (level) of your buildings. To be sure that the produced resources are not wasted, you will need a warehouse that is as large as possible. The notice describing how large your warehouse is and how many raw materials are inside is in the upper right corner of the page.
The number under the warehouse symbol indicates to you how many resources your warehouse can store. This number is the total amount of each of the normal resources. The numbers to the left indicate how much of the respective resource is currently in the warehouse.

Leading is a massive time commitment. You will need to be super active if you want to become a good leader. You will be overseeing actions within the alliance, sorting out requests, overlooking the forums, researching other alliances and dealing with opponents. Last of all, but by far not the least, you will be leading your alliances members…

If you feel that you are a good enough, experienced player as well as being active enough, it is time to plan your alliance. What type of alliance do you wish to create? How will it work? You have a number of options.

First, choose what type of alliance you wish to have. These options are key to how all works out in the end.

Premade

A premade alliance is a great idea if you are experienced and active on the external forums. A premade is where you recruit members before the world actually starts. This way, you will be able to organise the alliance before the world starts. You are also able to pick who you want before they are gobbled up by other alliances, able to recruit your friends and other experienced players. You can also set a criteria for recruiting (experienced etc, but you are unable to set criteria such as “only two members per island” or “other ### points please”). You won’t have to chance it on whether decent members are in your area or whether anyone else joins, as you will already have an alliance before you start. Just don’t forget to tell your members what direction the alliance will start.

+ You are (almost) guarranteed to have members you trust join. You can organise the alliance and plan with members before the world begins.

- If you all start in one key direction, you may end up with three, four or even five members on the same island as each other and may struggle growing later.
Certain criteria cannot be set. No guarantee that all these pre-recruited people will join.

MRA (Mass Recruiting Alliance)

An MRA is where you go into a world and recruit everyone you can. When someone creates an MRA, there is often little, or no criteria whatsoever. Since an MRA may let anyone into an alliance, you may later find out some players lack fundementals, such as even being able to play or communication. As well as this, with a non-select bunch of members, not all of them will play with the alliance and many will drift away and won’t help your alliance. Due to this, MRAs often fail or go “out of control”. However, it may work if someone recruits according to a criteria. MRAs are often looked upon as nooby alliances.

+ Recruiting criteria may be fully set.

- MRAs often consist of 100+ players, leading and trusting 100+ players can get out of control. Recruiting anyone (as MRAs do) could mean recruiting spies or inactive players into your alliance, who won’t help the alliance go further. No guarantee that anyone will join the alliance.

If you’re exhausted, covered in sweat, blood and dirt, and have taken quite a beating, you most likely want to go home to rest and recover.

And you can do just that in Runes of Magic! Housing for your characters is available from the start, and you can enter your house for the first time in Logar.

Setting up your interior is simple: Buy items, drag and drop them into one of the available slots, and click the button to place it. You can turn, spin, move and place objects freely.

Decorate to your tastes

There are more than 130 available housing items from which to choose — such as tables, chairs, rugs, fireplaces, beds, wall decorations and room dividers. With so many choices, you’re bound to find something to suit you.

(Treasure) chests and item storage

Every large city in Runes of Magic has a bank. But humans are hunters and gatherers. If you don’t want to rely on banks, store your loot and treasure at your house in a chest.

You get one free chest with 20 slots, and you can place your chest anywhere in your house. If you need more storage, you can buy more chests.

Prepare and save outfits with mannequins

Everyone has seen a mannequin at some point in their lives, and most people gawk at clothing displayed in shop windows.

In Runes of Magic, you can use mannequins to create your own personal home display and make it easier to change attire. Mannequins can be either male or female, and you can place more than one in your house at any time.

Use the equipment screen to dress mannequins with items from your inventory. If you’re in a hurry and have no time before the next raid, you can swap your current outfit for what a mannequin is wearing with a single click.

Crafting at home

We all know the scenario. You just collected all necessary materials for new armor sets and are ready to craft at one of the forges in the city. As you are about to begin, other players stop and say, “Hi. You are a blacksmith, right? Please craft this item for me.”

If you want peace and quiet when you’re crafting, buy the necessary tools for your craft and place them in your house. There are anvils for blacksmiths, laboratories for alchemists and huge pots for chefs. No matter the skill, the necessary equipment is available.

Expand your house

Soon you’ll be able expand your house in Runes of Magic with more floors, bigger rooms, attics, closets and much more. The combination and expansion possibilities are endless.

Interact with surrounding objects

Mannequins aren’t the only things that need but one click. You also can start a fire in the fireplace and light candles to give your house a homely atmosphere.

Future features

Every three months, Runes of Magic will publish a free add-on with fresh content, including new furniture and other options for housing.

If you have a great idea about housing options or items, let us know. Community is important to the Runes of Magic team, and we like player feedback and contributions

In Runes of Magic you at present have a choice from the following base character classes: brave Warrior, cunning Scout, nimble Rogue, wise Mage, noble Knight, holy Priest, mighty Druid and mysterious Warden. From level 10 any player can then add a second class to their character’s primary class. This makes a multitude of possible combinations available to all players.

Runes of Magic Warriors

No warrior would ever back away from an honorable fight.

They are skilled in the use of the deadliest weapons and always strive to become better and stronger. They are proficient in all close combat techniques so that they can emerge gloriously from the toughest of struggles.

Every victory though has to be earned in an honorable way. Attacks from behind an opponent’s back and other unfair means are taboo. The prospect of an upcoming fight does not arouse fear in the heads of the sturdy warriors, but instills a sense of honor and the will to victory.

Warriors do not care about their enemies, because they aim to surpass themselves in each battle.

Attribute

Strength: 14

Dexterity: 12

Constitution: 13

Intelligence: 5

Wisdom: 6

Specifics

Warriors are truly masters in the use of arms, and can handle every close combat weapon while also being able to wear all kinds of armors, even magnificent chain mail.

Driven by their battle rage they try to upset the enemy with special combinations of strikes and blows and to increase the momentum of their attacks.

They can also channel their rage into passive abilities to strengthen themselves or to provoke opponents and to scare them with an impressive display of their fury – so terrifying that weaker minds take flight in panic.

Ultimately the class combinations broaden their skills into various arrays. To inflict massive physical damage in close combat will always remain their primal strength though.

Skilled warriors keep the overall situation in mind at all times and know when they can break loose in battle, draw the wrath of their enemies upon themselves or take a back seat.

Runes of Magic Scouts

Scouts are persevering wanderers, who are sensitive to dangers in their surroundings. This allows them to close in on their enemies from a favorable position.

Their cold precision with bow and arrow is the bread-and-butter of their profession. Bloody close range engagements are not meant for them. If it comes down to it, they have enough trumps up their sleeves.

For defense they rely heavily on their agility to evade hostile attacks. They always prefer the silent, elegant solution to a vociferous performance.

Endurance, concentration and a sharp mind are the virtues of a real hunter, who keeps his eyes on the prey and kills it.

Attribute

Strength: 11

Dexterity: 13

Constitution: 10

Intelligence: 10

Wisdom: 9

Specifics

Scouts are masters in long range combat, and use their abilities to bring their bow and crossbow skills to perfection.

In close combat they depend on evasion and delaying tactics, to get into range for another shot or to wait for reinforcements who feel more at home in close range combat.

Specially boosted long range attacks can defeat opponents in a matter of seconds or at least weaken them in such a way, that they become easy prey in close combat. This is the area where scouts have to prevent their enemy’s attacks.

With their exceptional perception they can even find hidden foes from a safe distance, which makes them the natural adversaries of rogues.

Dexterity and intelligence are essential traits of scouts. Cleverly taking advantage of the physical distance is critical and every single decision has to be well thought out.

Runes of Magic Rogues

Rogues are one of the fastest character classes.

They are almost always able to sneak up on their unprepared victims twinkle-toed. Due to their marginal physical strength they can only inflict minor damage so they combine their swift attacks with insidious poisons and become a great danger to all their adversaries.

Their great arsenal of impressive tricks is looked down upon by lesser skilled fighters who think them unfair.

It is not unusual for them to leave a battlefield with full pockets either– they are rogues after all.

Attribute

Strength: 12

Dexterity: 14

Constitution: 11

Intelligence: 7

Wisdom: 7

Specifics

Rogues are specialists in inflicting particular physical damage. In close range they use dagger techniques and ranged weapons for long range attacks.

In contrast to warriors and rangers they whole-heartedly rely on their malicious methods, like secret sneak attacks, poison and various techniques inflicting bleeding wounds.

Although they lack exceptional strength and defence, thanks to their swiftness and agility a rogue manages to avoid most trouble.

The only thing on a rogue’s mind while attacking is to swiftly strike with amazing precision.

Alongside his attacking skills a rogue can also lay traps, scout the area and increase a group’s income, all of which make rogues valuable party members.

Runes of Magic Mages

Magicians are wise and prudent – knowledge is the only force they have faith in.

For aeons they have tried to solve the mysteries of the elements, to completely understand and master their invocation.

The immense concentration needed to unleash a spell, forces magicians to do without the protection offered by strong armor.

For casting, distance is needed. Better still are some loyal companions in whose support a magician can trust.

The hardships endured by protecting these sometimes outlandish savants is justified by the immense power they can yield.

Specifics

Magicians attack with fire and lightning and inflict heavy magical damage.

Some of their spells can enclose wide-ranging areas with fiery walls and keep whole hordes of monsters in check.

Seasoned magicians are said to be able to harness the power of the phoenix.

With the help of their arcane knowledge they can protect themselves and their companions from harm or increase the strength of the entire party.

Runes of Magic Priest

Humanity needs gods, but their souls cannot get in touch with their deities directly. Priests use their prayers to assist all those who are in need of godly help.

They work their wonders by using the power which flows through them by their gods. For example it is their belief, that with faith to Narfas, the god of spring water, they will be able to cure wounds, purge magic and call back souls into their bodies.

At the same time they use the element of water to protect all those who strongly believe in him. But their faith must be true: their belief in God, for themselves and toward destiny. Only by use of this mentality can the power between the priest and his god connect and be used to bring about the wonders of prayers into the world.

Specifics

While priests are able to defend, restore hit points and increase stats of their companions, they also have the power to bring back their fallen comrades to life.

They can wield shields; and only they have the ability to use the element of water to deal magical damage.

However, their most important role remains calling out for godly assistance and mending wounds during battle.

Even if someone may spot a lone wandering priest, they may quickly be asked to work together with other adventurers, since there is rarely someone to pass up the chance of godly intervention…

Runes of Magic Knight

Thanks to their militaristic education, knights can wield massive armor and use heavy weaponry.

They master every fighting skill, though their real strength lies in their deep faith. This allows them to call out the hidden powers of the light within the souls of every human.

With this faith, boisterous combat power and their iron willpower, knights build up immense walls to protect everything that is holy to them.

Traditional adventurers, which hold their profession higher than their own person, are drawn toward the life of a knight due to his strict Code of Honor.

Specifics

Knights are the heaviest armored class in the game; actually the only one that can wear plate armor. Through their power of light they have access to abilities that can send their opponents to the ground.

They are one of the few classes that dare to throw themselves against the mightiest of monsters.

With their special light-based attacks and shield abilities, knights fight their enemies effectively and draw their hatred over themselves.

Runes of Magic Warden

The Wardens are the combat elite among the Elves. Years of training with the most diverse weapons means that they mature into becoming their people’s greatest warriors. However, it’s not only to be seen when they stand in the foremost lines of battle, blades drawn, clad in mail and leather. Their real uniqueness shows itself in their various companions.

Thanks to their unique symbiosis with nature, the Wardens are able to summon powerful creatures from nature to make every enemy freeze in terror.

Specifics

The Warden is an outstanding close combatant. He has the most diverse weapons at his disposal and he is masterful in their use. The ability to wear chain armour also affords him the necessary protection to emerge victorious from battle.

But he doesn’t only have weapons at his disposal; he is also able to draw on an arsenal of richly varied magical abilities. They serve mainly to weaken an opponent and to strengthen themselves.

His true strengths are played out, however, in conjunction with one of his three faithful companions whom he can command in combat. The two together are a virtually insuperable team which can also effortlessly take on several adversaries. The companion having the ability to go up against several enemies, keeping these occupied while the Warden himself swiftly and effortlessly subjugates his target.

Runes of Magic Druid

Decades of intensive training and an education in the academy raise the Druids to the level of Guardians of the Knowledge in Elven society. They learn to be at one with nature and to use their regenerative powers for themselves. Thus they are somewhat comparable with the human priests, who equally use their powers for the healing of others and themselves.

But just as many Druids have committed themselves to the healing and support of their group, there are others who have the ability to unleash nature’s unbridled wrath at their enemies. Many opponents have realised that the lightly clad, supposedly weak healer can be a formidable adversary if he is provoked.

Specifics

Their closeness with nature enables the Druids to use their powers according to their own wishes. Through them an additional resource has entered into Runes of Magic: Nature’s Power. Through special skills Druids build up more and more of Nature’s Power and can release it at a given time in especially powerful spells.

However it is their diversity which makes Druids so special. They are powerful healers, who support the group’s priests with rapid healing spells. This becomes important in emergency situations in particular, making them highly welcome group members. The group doesn’t profit only from their exceptional healing powers, but also from their ability to effect considerable damage over a long period. They represent true all-rounders in Taborea.

But what makes them really unique is the ability to control opponents. They are able to win over an enemy’s loyalty for a short period and have them fight on their own side. This is an enormously useful spell and not only when players are on their own.

Fighting: A matter of life and death

The combat system relies equally on the advancement of fighting skills and equipment. The quality of weapons and armor has an effect on attack and defense, but the proper use of a character’s skill set is equally important.
For normal attacks, it is important to master skills for weapons — such as two-handed swords, bows or staffs — because skills are directly responsible for the accuracy of a weapon.

Using a weapon inflicts primarily physical damage to your enemies, and spells of mages and priests deal magical damage. Mages have control over fire and wind, and priests can call on Narfas, the god of springwater, to give them control over water.

Skills

The core of the combat system consists of the many different attacking skills, which give each character class its own distinctive strength. Combat is not just beating down an opponent’s vitality with brute force; it’s also fine-tuning skills and being observant and clever. Roots or chains of light can be used to buy time or retreat from a hopeless fight, bleeding wounds are painful and can be a dangerous problem or a useful weapon, and items that blind, stun or poison enemies exist because of sinister crafters.

Many fighting skills depend on other skills and demand constant attention and quick reaction. Warriors can use opening attacks to position their enemies so that special follow-up attacks are possible, but they need to be able to quickly identify which attack they should use. Knights can place Glowing Seals, which have various effects that depend on the follow-up skill used. And mages can protect themselves by using Electrostatic Charges before hurling those same charges to attack their enemies.

Masters of elements also should watch out for any resistance an enemy may have against magic. A spotted weakness can be used to turn a fight around very quickly.

Combos

It is important to keep an eye on the interaction of elements. Every attack is assigned to a hidden element, and certain combinations of elements have magical effects. They are quite inconspicuous for short combinations, but longer combos are more spectacular. The mixture of elements on an enemy target is essential, and groups of adventurers can work together to generate more damage and special effects, ranging from fear to fields of flames. But first, you must discover which combinations have which, if any, effects.

Building a group

With the selection of primary and secondary classes, the specialization in certain skills determines the role of a character in group combat. A solo player will use a wide range of melee attacks, ranged attacks and healing skills, but groups work best with strict task-sharing.

In a well-built group, close-combat fighters — such as warriors and knights — should be in the front to stop enemies from breaking through to the mages and priests, who are likely to be vulnerable to physical attacks. The frontline should distract enemies with attacks and skills and deal as much damage as possible with swords and axes. The ranged combatants — such as mages and, sometimes, scouts — should do damage with volleys of arrows and fire from the second line of defense. Scouts can help in the front line if the need be. Priests can join in combat, but mostly, they should be busy healing the frontline fighters and keeping them alive. Rogues are mostly on the move. Rogues can deal a lot of damage but must stay alert to evade incoming attacks; in this position, you don’t have a chance to make the same mistake twice.

Tactics

A proven method for defeating a group of strong enemies is to lure strong single fighters out of that group with well-directed taunts or ranged attacks. If the main push is then stopped by the front line of a well-organized group, it usually doesn’t take long for the group’s enemies to meet their demise.

Combat groups can repeat this again and again, but it’s not always easy to separate leaders from the guards. In this case, the best tactic is to keep the most dangerous enemy busy until his guards die. Character classes such as knight or scout are best-suited for this task, because they can keep an enemy in place and delay a fight by distracting their opponents with one or two well-directed attacks. The game of attack, root and retreat has to be kept up long enough for the main group to get its hands free to finish the fight.
The fruits of victory

Defeating dangerous monsters means experience and fame for the victors, but it also may mean interesting loot, such as bear skin and other hunting trophies, rune stones, tools, clothing, and weapons and armor — which in some cases may have special properties. Furthermore, from time to time, glowing magical spheres will emerge from fallen enemies. The spheres grant the adventurer various special powers for certain periods of time.

Death

When an adventurer loses a battle and dies, Ayvenas summons him to his realm. After a short time, the recently deceased reappears alive and well at one of the holy stone circles. They can never remember the voyage through the realm of the dead, and they are generally quite dizzy and weak and so should rest a while. It is a good idea to use this recovery time to check armor and weapons and visit the local blacksmith for repairs.

Priests familiar with the Ritual of Resurrection can help shorten the voyage through the realm of Ayvenas and can alleviate the effects of death. For groups exploring ancient catacombs deep underground, it is very important to have a Priest with this skill so that dead adventurers can be resurrected on location.

Guild Wars
